The Founder

Ilya Chervony

Creator & Founder of American Chanson

Songwriter, composer, poet and music producer. His songs explore love, memory, humor, freedom and the lives unfolding along America's roads.

American Chanson is his vision for a home where storytelling comes first — and where other artists can eventually share that vision.

Our Philosophy

The Song Comes First.

“A voice. A story. A melody. Music about people — their choices, their memories, their dreams, and the roads they take.”

An Open Musical World

I Don't Care

By Ilya Chervony · American Chanson

Read lyrics

They tell me where I'm supposed to go,
How to win, what I ought to know.
Everybody's running somewhere,
Me... I'm already there.

Some collect another shiny prize,
Some spend years behind disguise.
I've been rich and I've been broke,
Still laughed at the same old joke.

You can chase another golden dream,
You can sail another sea.
I've got nothing left to prove—
I'm finally just being me.

I don't care about the money.
I don't care about the fame.
I don't care who's keeping score,
Or who's remembering my name.
Give me one more sunrise,
One more song out in the air.
If my heart is still alive...
I don't care.

Some dreams stayed beside the road,
Some were lighter than they showed.
I kept walking anyway...
That's enough for me today.

When the lights are fading low,
Only love is left to show.
Everything we own will fade,
But not the songs we've made.

I don't care about tomorrow.
I don't care about yesterday.
Give me one more open highway,
One more tune to play.
One good friend beside me,
A little hope to share.
If I can still sing my song...
I don't care.
